    After winning a ramen competition in NYC, Menya Jiro decided to extend his stay in New York with a pop-up at Stirling Sake in Greenport, Long Island. His signature Bay Ramen, created with local Peconic Bay scallops and organic produce, is a popular draw for North Fork locals.

    I myself had a very hard time in the beginning.

    I experimented continuously for about two months because I didn’t know the proper cooking method.

    Despite that, it wasn’t going well and I was at a lost. But my friend with 8 years of ramen experience saved me.

    I was taught the fundamental cooking method.

    From then, I was even able to understand the theoretical parts of ramen. I was able to create the taste that I wanted overwhelmingly faster.
