An angular building at a residential intersection seems an unlikely home for a Mexican cafe, but the ambience inside is right neighborly. Warm orangey walls are adorned with cheery art and a vintage poster for the movie -- Esperanza. On the menu, mild chile rellenos, filled with beef, nuts, raisins and spices, make a tasty midday repast, and at dinner, favorites include the pollo ala crema (chicken in a complex chipotle cream sauce), sincronizadas (smoky ham, carne asada, and cheese layered between tortillas), and the house specialty, Borrego chile ancho (marinated lamb served with frijoles and vegetables).
